wedding card

two hearts punched out, embossed with swiss dot folder....made the groom's heart to mimic a tux.  a few buttons, clear dew drops and a script embossed nestie label...and a simple wedding card is born !  the tulle flecked with gold adds my favorite aspect....BLING !  saw this idea on several cards on splitcoaststampers.com.  love that site.

easy poppy

here's an easy poppy card......i cut one scalloped circle with my SU punch.....rolled and rolled and rolled it till i was able to separate it into two layers.....peeled it apart and then made a 1/4 hole in the center of both
i used a small piece of grosgrain ribbon, pulled threads at either end to fray it....the ribbon was yellow, so i colored it black with a sharpie pen.  stuck that through the middle of the flower and anchored it and smooshed the flower till it looked like a poppy. then i stamped a stem and a little leaf.....popped the poppy on.  sentiment from mega messages (PTI) with a red rhinestone for bling.....the focal image is placed on cream cardstock with the edges distressed and inked.  red dot paper from PTI itty bitty dot paper.
finished card is 4x4 inches

pretty butterfly

this technique was "smooshed tissue on acrylic".....i stamped the butterfly in stazon black ink on a piece of acetate.....then set it aside to dry for a few minutes. then i dropped some blue reinker on the backside of the image and smooshed the color around and then crinkled up wrapping tissue and placed in right on the inky surface.

gives a watery background for the butterfly.  two scalloped circle nesties sit on a flocked butterfly background....got that 12x12 stack at Michaels.....really interesting paper...from Anna Griffith.  the large, poofy sheer ribbon finished it perfectly

re worked cards

looking through my stash for cards to donate to the local ronald mc donald house in charlotte,  i found a few cards in need of a "fix up"

this bloom is made of circles folded to make petals....the background is made using a Cuttlebug embossing folder and the stem is stitched with sparkly green ribbon. the old card had the hot pink base and flower on a pale pink card...it seemed lost.
when i  popped it on a springy green i think it went from ho hum to happy....

punched puppy

saw this idea on a SU site...i used the small oval, large oval, scalloped circle, word window and 1 1/4 circle punches. i sponged all layers with creamy carmel ink and used a nifty paw print ribbon in the bad.... he's a cutie.

more 4th of july

Cuttlebug stars folder makes the red and blue backgrounds....this started out as something else, but i goofed, so i used the torn pieced cardfront to cut a nestie scalloped circle for a focal piece.  the butterfly is a SU punch, the little stars a judith stick punch...a bit of blue sparkle foam is the butterfly's body.....

more 4th of july

in this one i used the SU ornament  punch to make the fish.... patriotic little guys....the white background is made using the cuttlebug stars embossing folder, the blue is cardstock from a Sam's pack....foam stars cut with an original sizzix die....love their silly eyes.....the lips are made with a small heart punch (SU) and the fins from a SU circle punch cut to provide three bumps.

shows that horizontal stripes make you look fat !!   yikes, i need to remember that.....

4th of july cards

i am probably among the few that sends 4th of july cards....but i love to make them.  this year's are sparkley....here's a few.  (not one is the same of course)
i used the SU ornament punch for the vase....and the 5 petal punch for the flower.... sparkle foam in the flower center.  the butterfly is a martha stewart punch.  the background is made using the sticks CB embossing folder on crisp white cardstock.

summer challenge on southernbreezes

Had this one made already too !  This is a digi image i found for free online (can not remember where though)

I cut an oval of acetate, ran that through the CB using a multidot folder to mimic water......Makes me want to be on a tube, floating with a pina colada in hand on a sunny beach with aquamarine colored water.....ahhhh, only 200+ days to go for that wish to come true.

This fat cat has a pink brad for a nose.....must have gotten a bit too much sun? The image is colored with copic markers.....they give a nice watery color to any image. The stamp is an old $$ Michaels find.  One can always dream, right?

puzzle pieces

i saw cards with this theme on splitcoaststampers......and remembered i had a red sizzix die of puzzle pieces, never out of it's case.

so............i put coordinating cardstock from the safari pack onto chip board and cut out two sets....so i could make two cards.  missing you sounded interesting, one piece missing....get it?

....the stamp is from mega messages (PTI).

shades of brown challenge for southernbreezes

i had two that fit the bill for this week's challenge.....brown may be my new favorite color

the first is an easel card...so easy to make.  love this sentiment....... the background cardstock is from a mini stack of safari prints

here's the side view....a little bit of leopard ribbon and two copper brads complete the card.... the card is held open by a button strategically placed.

next one is made using PTI fly away set.....love this little plane.....it is a happy plane i think.  the background paper is from a PTI stack...hodgepodge.  while stamping on the linen-like cardstock....some texture happens on the plane itself...unintended, but nifty

cake.....and champagne

stamp from green thumb set (PTI).....top is stamped again, cut out and popped up.....red mat made by using scalloped square nestie....

this image from  http://www.schlosserdesigns.com/blog/2010/05/tutorial-tuesday-strawberry-boxes/
my cyber friend Shelia (i have spelled your name wrong forever...so sorry!) made a pretty card using this and  other images from that site....really nifty.

this makes me want to go on a picnic !!  maybe it was the red gingham paper that did it?

easy easy flower

i cut 9 small flowers using a nestability die....from a crepe paper streamer of all things !

just layered them, attached with a brad and popped on the card.....i think it is a happy little card.

i seem to favor the 4 1/4 square cards lately.....

the leaves are from the Blooming button bits set (PTI).....cut out and creased to give dimension....the patterned square has two edges rounded...sort of flower like.....2 little gems on the bottom are just a wink !!

this is my first attempt to have a frame around the card....still haven't gotten the hang of doing that, but it's a start.

i cut the image piece and the background (SU) using a label nestability die.....and mounted with scoretape (love that stuff)

reverse image

this card was made for the weekly southernbreezes.com challenge....make a black and white card with ONE color pop.

the stamp is from "all night media" (have had it for quite some time).

southerbreezes challenge april 18

challenged to make a card with our favorite color (pink) and technique (currently squished paper flowers)

on the first the background is stamped with a dahlia stamp from PTI and embossed. when dry, i covered it with gluestick glue and then patted on a crumbled piece of tissue wrapping paper....smoothing it to look like faux silk....which is difficult to see here.  the flower is made by punching out 3 flowers (papershapers punch), spraying with water, spray starch and then drying with a heat tool.  i punched a small hole in the center and inserted "stamen".  that flower is placed on a dahlia (stamped and then cut) flower.  i sprayed the concoction with "smooch" pearl spray and then used some diamond dust. hello is a PTI stamp.

second card's flower is made with an original sizzix die cut flower using the same technique.  the background cardstock is from Nana's nursery  pack.....stamp from PTI.  a bit of lavender ribbon finishes it off.

PINK PINK PINK.......love pink

picture frame card

i found directions here:  http://rachelgreig.typepad.com/darkroomdoor/2010/03/wilderness-photochip-frame-card.html

i stamped a background lace stamp with brilliance blue ink and embossed with clear ultra fine embossing powder.  cut it to fit on the 4 1/4 gatefold card front.  cardstock is from Gina K and from nana's nursery stack. i used rectangular nesties for the openings and a scalloped oval for the sentiment

the sentiment is from PTI (my not so secret addiction).  it looks quite difficult to make but really is pretty easy.

paper piecing

seems like most of my cards ARE paper pieced.  i think i do not know how to make a "clean and simple" card.  most of mine have many layers.

on this one i used cardstock from a K& Co mat stack.  the basket is just a rectangle with rounded corners.  i ran that through my CB with the oriental basket weave embossing folder and sponged with brown ink to highlight.  the handle is attached with a brad and the basket is popped out with dimensionals to give it some relief.  the flowers were made with paper a shapers flower punch..........vellum layer on top for added interest.  the leaves were made with a martha stewart punch.  sentiment is from PTI mega messages (one of my favorite sets)

we have given up hope for our lost kitten

well, it has been over a week, he has not returned nor have we gotten any response to our signs posted in the neighborhood.  we are very sad......but Lovey will be missed even though he wasnt with us for very long.

good bye sweetie.....
