chevron quilt made with a layer cake (harmony) and MSQ directions.  top done, need to get backing and then i will have it quilted with a bubble pattern in a cobalt blue (the plan so far)...will post when complete.

made some christmas cards and a few birthday.....have been spending more time with fabric lately

making this chevron quilt for our new "mini" 2BR 2 BA condo in Myrtle Beach SC.  it came furnished and the sofa in there is blue and white ticking (or at least that's what i remember).  we close on monday and go back to the beach wednesday to take inventory....scary but exciting.  we may rent it out in the summer as going to any crowded place on season is not enticing to us.  we shall see.

the shop in town thinks i can do custom invites....ie baby shower, bridal shower.  they wanted a sample of each....here's what i came up with:

we've been to the beach....finally had time to play with paper....made a few wedding cards for the shop in town....they sold 17 cards last month and i had to replenish the stock

another quilt....jelly jar

this was made in the "jelly roll race" mode....I attached 40 2.5 inch strips (a jellyroll) together end to end....combining each finished segment 5 times to create the quilt....boring but pretty cool effect in the end. a piano key border of strips cut off of the finished piece and a black and white polka dot border and binding set it off !  love it !

the backing is pieced using a label fabric I got on fabric.com awhile back and side strips of light green with little stars....

her name ???  "Jellyjar".... of course

newest quilt

this one is called "twist the night away"....made with the large twister ruler and a batik layer cake.....backed and bordered with batik fabric as well.

oh my, i do LOVE batik fabrics.....DH wonders what i am doing with all the quilts i make.... it seems many do not have "forever" homes....they will just live with their mom i guess for now.  mom (aka pam) loves all of them.

workshop cards

attended a neat stampin'up workshop and collected swap cards and made some "make and takes"..

a nice variety....some of the christmas ones i left for later....also could not remember how some of the make and takes were put together.....hmmmmm.  too much thinking involved...left that for another day as well.  i chose not to put the make and takes together at the workshop.....too rushed.

i can not decide whether to call it "retro red" or "my mother's kitchen"....just reminds me of the "old days" i guess

the pattern is "double slide layer cake" from the Missouri star quilt company.....
