this took no time to put together but hours to quilt.....many things went wrong including forgetting the backing before starting to quilt.  ripping out those stitches was NOT fun.  once backing was on i still goofed up....but the end result was worth it.  i guess.  it's channel quilted horizontally.....washing removed all the chalk lines i drew and all the tiny holes from ripped out stitches.  whew.

birthday flower

another new PTI set...."glorious vases".....very delicate....used crystal glaze for dimension on flowers and water in the vase....and a bit of sparkle with stickles on the flower centers....

sponged background to soften it......sentiment from same set.  happy birthday maureen !!

jungle fever

the background is made from a set of notecards bought at michaels awhile back....8 notes for $1....all animal prints.  i cut them apart and used the zebra pelt for this one.  my new PTI set is perfect....masculine i hope.  i sponged light blue and light green on the cardstock before stamping and drew a thin line with a fine point sharpie using my nestie as a template.

quilted halloween placemats

some people dear to me will receive these in the fall.....i bought the wonderful fabrics at fabric.com (site of severe temptation for sure).  since i seem to be into smaller projects, placemats were perfect for me at this time.

each is different....and this time i experimented with free motion quilting on some....of course, i forgot to lower the feed dogs.....hmmmm.  interesting to see how different it will be when actually freemotioning the correct way ! the pix dont show the actual quilting ....boo hoo.

butterflies

cardstock from a mat pack "mariposa"....the papers are so pretty they hardly need anything additional.  used PTI butterfly die....cut from a peel off top from sourcream container....sponged on alcohol inks and ran them thru my cuttlebug swissdots embossing folder

CLARISSA.....pink polkadot medium sized frog is for my GD riley......stuffed with craft pellets.....love her eyes and pink tongue.

also added to the froggie family....TOAD....for my DD....stuffed with rice, this guy is heavier but solid.
