birthday for hubby

for the background i used the cardboard insert from a curtain panel, tearing the covering off to reveal the spines beneath......the sentiment is from PTI and the owl and tree is from a clear set i got at AC Moore (hampton art)

i cut the image piece and the background (SU) using a label nestability die.....and mounted with scoretape (love that stuff)

reverse image

this card was made for the weekly southernbreezes.com challenge....make a black and white card with ONE color pop.

the stamp is from "all night media" (have had it for quite some time).

i stamped one image on black with SU white craft ink and one on white with versafine black onyx ink....clear embossed both images, cut out the circle with nestability die and then cut each circle in half.

put opposite colors together on a hot pink scalloped nestability.....the DREAM sentiment is from a $$ set from Michaels.

pretty cool..............

pulley card

this is a neat technique.....once you do one it is not too bad.
this is the card closed.....you pull on the ribbon on the right for a surprise.
i made the flower using 3 sizes of flower nestabilities.....the polka dot paper is from a CS stack from Sams last year.

both stamped images are SU.... happy happy happy and a cute present on the side panels.   birthday wishes is also from SU.....

southerbreezes challenge april 18

challenged to make a card with our favorite color (pink) and technique (currently squished paper flowers)

on the first the background is stamped with a dahlia stamp from PTI and embossed. when dry, i covered it with gluestick glue and then patted on a crumbled piece of tissue wrapping paper....smoothing it to look like faux silk....which is difficult to see here.  the flower is made by punching out 3 flowers (papershapers punch), spraying with water, spray starch and then drying with a heat tool.  i punched a small hole in the center and inserted "stamen".  that flower is placed on a dahlia (stamped and then cut) flower.  i sprayed the concoction with "smooch" pearl spray and then used some diamond dust. hello is a PTI stamp.

second card's flower is made with an original sizzix die cut flower using the same technique.  the background cardstock is from Nana's nursery  pack.....stamp from PTI.  a bit of lavender ribbon finishes it off.

PINK PINK PINK.......love pink

picture frame card

i found directions here:  http://rachelgreig.typepad.com/darkroomdoor/2010/03/wilderness-photochip-frame-card.html

i stamped a background lace stamp with brilliance blue ink and embossed with clear ultra fine embossing powder.  cut it to fit on the 4 1/4 gatefold card front.  cardstock is from Gina K and from nana's nursery stack. i used rectangular nesties for the openings and a scalloped oval for the sentiment

the sentiment is from PTI (my not so secret addiction).  it looks quite difficult to make but really is pretty easy.

paper piecing

seems like most of my cards ARE paper pieced.  i think i do not know how to make a "clean and simple" card.  most of mine have many layers.

on this one i used cardstock from a K& Co mat stack.  the basket is just a rectangle with rounded corners.  i ran that through my CB with the oriental basket weave embossing folder and sponged with brown ink to highlight.  the handle is attached with a brad and the basket is popped out with dimensionals to give it some relief.  the flowers were made with paper a shapers flower punch..........vellum layer on top for added interest.  the leaves were made with a martha stewart punch.  sentiment is from PTI mega messages (one of my favorite sets)

we have given up hope for our lost kitten

well, it has been over a week, he has not returned nor have we gotten any response to our signs posted in the neighborhood.  we are very sad......but Lovey will be missed even though he wasnt with us for very long.

good bye sweetie.....
